These brand-new Pressure Swing Adsorption Medical Oxygen plants (PSA) adds to the already existing and functional 120 cylinders per day plant at General Hospital Ituk Mbang—bringing the daily medical grade oxygen producing capacity of AKSMOPP to 240 cylinders per day.

Since its commissioning in March 2025, the Akwa Ibom State Medical Oxygen Production Plant has produced over 18,000 cubic litres of oxygen, filled more than 2,600 cylinders, and reduced external oxygen purchases by 95%.
